Welcome to the CCPR’s new member support initiative

Smart Sport

Governing, administering and running a sport or recreation organisation is increasingly challenging.  New laws and legislation and red tape are constantly emerging and there are frequent calls from Government to modernise. But the pressure to put the necessary systems and structures in place to lead and develop their sport can be overwhelming particularly for the people, often volunteers, in small organisations.

Help is at hand!

As part of the CCPR's support for its Member Organisations, we are launching this section of the website to provide you with a range of pick-and-mix business solutions in the form of guidelines, templates and practical examples in the following areas:

Corporate Governance
Risk Management
Human Resources (Employment and Volunteers)
Financial Management
Marketing and Communication
Equality
Child Protection

In order to give guidance on what would make an organisation more efficient and effective, a model has been prepared which recognises the key components of running and managing a sport.  Not every aspect of this model will be relevant to all organisations, however it provides you with guidance to identify where improvements are necessary and how to take action to achieve them.

This is not the definitive answer, but does provide a tool to help you with the process of continuing development and improvement of the overall performance of your organisation, to put you in a better position to achieve success.

The site is, at the moment, very much 'work in progress' but we have already gathered together a wealth of information through links to key websites which will provide you with an easy pathway to guidelines that will help you to develop policy and procedures in each of the key areas.  We have also linked to practical working documents which are currently in use by NGBs and other organisations and this is an area that we would like to expand further during the coming weeks.  We will also be developing templates for organisations to download and use.  If your organisation has any examples of good practice that you would like us to include - please email us through the 'Contact Us' facility.  We would also appreciate any feedback that will help us to further develop the site in general.
